Press Release: General Conference Achieves Significant Milestones in Legislation for Racial Justice, Disability Inclusion, and Overall Equity

May 15, 2024 — The General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR) is proud to announce a successful conclusion to the recent session of General Conference, where all proposed legislation by GCORR has been overwhelmingly approved. This marks a historic step forward in our mission to foster an inclusive and just community within The United Methodist Church (UMC).

GCORR Monitoring Reports

In fulfilling GCORR’s charge at General Conference to ensure institutional equity, we published these monitoring reports that helped frame key questions for, and to provide reflections of, each day’s activities.

Monitoring Reports and are now a part of the official shared history as the people known as The United Methodist Church, as they are published in the Daily Christian Advocate (DCA) - the official journal of the General Conference of The United Methodist Church.

GCORR Legislation

GCORR Quadrennial Report 2016-2023

GCORR’s Quadrennial Report encapsulates the work and impactful ministry undertaken by GCORR over the past four years.

Normally this quadrennial report would have been produced in 2020— documenting GCORR's work over the previous four years leading up to the General Conference. That's why we're calling this document the Quad+, as it highlights how our agency has resourced the Church over the past sixt years.

Along with the report in English (below), available is the Quadrennial Report in French, Portuguese, Kiswahili.
