GCORR Opens 2026 CORR Action Fund Grant Applications for the United States

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR) is now accepting grant applications for the 2026 CORR Action Fund (CAF) from the United States. The CORR Action Fund supports bold, creative, and justice-rooted ministries that advance equity, reconciliation, and intercultural competency within The United Methodist Church.

GCORR is excited to announce the 2026 CAF grant opportunity dedicated to expanding mental health support for historically underserved communities. Recognizing that access to quality mental health services is often limited by systemic, economic, and cultural factors, this twelve-month grant seeks initiatives that enable communities to overcome these barriers through the provision of education, life skills, and tools to cope more effectively.

The initiative must incorporate trauma-informed and culturally appropriate processes that continue to promote a justice-oriented mindset.

The proposed grant would:

  • Have a direct impact on our historically underserved siblings experiencing mental health disparities,

  • If applicable, build alliances with community entities that deliver mental health services to underserved communities and integrate GCORR’s Ministry Model to ensure they are well-prepared to fulfill the objectives and demonstrate responsive approaches that address the mental health realities of their community,

  • Include a diversity of voices,

  • Be culturally sensitive to the diversity of the group,

  • Be trauma-informed (services that ensure a person’s physical and emotional safety while avoiding re-traumatization),

  • Be centered around equipping people to find sustainable solutions;

  • Wherever possible, provide resourcing, promotion, prevention, etc., in the language of the participants,

  • Create initiatives that result in lasting change, with the potential to be replicated in other local churches, districts, conferences, or UMC-affiliated entities,

  • Intentionally incorporate and build upon the existing GCORR Ministry Model.

We kindly request that you share this grant opportunity with churches in your jurisdiction, encouraging them to apply and actively participate in projects that promote mental health awareness and wellness.

All United Methodist Church and The Methodist Church of Puerto Rico* local churches, districts, conferences, United Methodist-affiliated schools and educational institutions, as well as other United Methodist-affiliated entities and racial and ethnic caucuses in the United States, are invited to apply.

  • About GCORR: The General Commission on Religion and Race’s mission is to challenge, lead, and equip the people of The United Methodist Church to become interculturally competent, ensure institutional equity, and facilitate vital conversations about religion, race, and culture. GCORR builds the capacity of The United Methodist Church to be contextually relevant and to reach more people, more young people, and more diverse people. This is achieved by centering GCORR’s work around the Ministry Model’s three priorities: supporting and leading vital conversations; developing culturally competent leadership and ministries; and promoting institutional equity while upholding the agency’s historic commitment to racial justice within the Church.

  • Vital Conversations is about modeling holy conversations throughout the Church about race, cultural diversity, and institutional equity. We gather and share learnings from these conversations to help grow a movement that honors all of God’s creation.

  • Intercultural Competence is about understanding one’s own culture and those of others. The ability to worship, work, and live effectively and in harmony with diverse persons is critical to those called to follow Christ.

  • Institutional Equity is about critically examining expressions of racial and cultural injustice in local and global contexts; setting goals for overcoming them; intentionally measuring progress; and resourcing culturally competent lay and clergy leaders to promote and sustain institutional equity within the worldwide United Methodist connection.
