As a result of GCORR’s work, the Church at all levels, all around the world, reflects and values the diversity of God.
GCORR’s work helps build the capacity of The United Methodist Church to become contextually relevant and reach more people, younger people, and more diverse people as we make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
GCORR promises to provide practical resources and support to leaders throughout the Church to help them engage and embrace the cultural diversity present in our congregations and communities.
The fundamental principles that undergird our ministry include:
- The Biblical imperative of right relationships with God and one another – relationships of love, grace, justice, humility, and mutual accountability
- The GCORR ministry model, which emphasizes three areas: institutional equity (policies, processes and systems); interculturally competent leadership (leadership development); and vital congregations (embracing the diversity of the community in the life of the church).
- The word of GCORR embraces and serves all people. This is a ministry of the whole Church, rooted in scripture and supported by the principles of the whole denomination.
