Extending borders beyond the lines of illegal immigration, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signed HB 2281 last month, implicating that ethnic studies programs “foster hate” toward other races. HB 2281 prohibits the inclusion of ethnic studies classes and courses in Arizona public schools.

The Houma Indian Tribe in Dulac, Louisiana is in the heart of this disaster in the Gulf, and the group wonders if it will be able to emerge from the diasaster that threatens not only the livelihood of thousands of people but one group’s cultural identity.
