Michelle Tello
Financial Services Assistant

The diversity of my responsibilities has afforded me a chance to appreciate the importance of GCORR’s ministry from different perspectives, as I have served the administrative needs of the staff in different ways. Providing financial services assistance to the treasurer and other staff helps me to support the mission of this agency and to ensure its effectiveness.

Michelle is the Financial Services Assistant to the treasurer and staff of the General Commission on Religion and Race. She joined our staff in 1999.

Michelle assists the treasurer with various financial stewardship responsibilities; and as IT liaison, she helps coordinate services provided by our IT and computer consultants. She was formerly an administrative assistant to agency executive staff.

GCORR’s longest serving staff member, Michelle was previously an executive assistant for The Family Place, Inc., a non-profit social services agency located in the heart of the Mount Pleasant/Adams Morgan area of Washington, DC. Originally a Californian, she comes to us from the California-Pacific Annual Conference where she was actively involved in summer camps as a counselor.

Michelle majored in Spanish Literature and Culture at California State University at Long Beach. Her work and interests revolve around Latino/a issues. Her parents are missionaries in Latin America through the General Board of Global Ministries, and are now serving in Venezuela.

Michelle’s pastimes are spending time with her family, traveling, and reading. However, most of her non-work time now is dedicated to her little girl, Zaida Abigail.
