Effective communications is critical to our mission and purpose, particularly in sensitizing and engaging United Methodists and others in the cause for racial justice and inclusiveness. Our communication goals involve sending and receiving messages that tell us what people are thinking and needing from us, and that tell as many people as possible about GCORR’s vision for ending racism and how they can help us fulfill that vision.
Indeed, our goals also include helping people to communicate with each other more, through message boards and other future channels, as they learn about and engage in ministries together to end racism. We do all this through our communications media—newsletters and other publications, Web site, audio and video recordings, news articles and commentaries, PowerPoint presentations, and so on. But essential to making these media vehicles drive home our message and generate a response are the relationships we have and nurture with our media partners and our valued audiences.
