Education & Resources
|
Providing education and resources is a cornerstone of our ministry at the General Commission on Religion and Race. It is a key part of our commitment to sensitize and support United Methodists in their efforts to overcome racism and build a racially just and inclusive church and society. Our educational tools and strategies range from print and electronic resources—including booklets, periodicals, DVDs and Web content—to face-to-face consultations, dialogues, speeches, sermons, workshops and training events. Our staff is frequently called upon to address public gatherings, to preach at worship services and lead Bible studies, to join in panel discussions and to share their expertise and insights in consultations with leadership across the church. This section of our site provides access to the informational, inspirational and instructional resources, services and events we offer, as well as information about other valuable resources and educational opportunities beyond the scope of this agency. That includes resources and events offered by our connectional partners, such as conference and jurisdictional commissions on Religion and Race. What we need from you, however, is help in identifying more educational resources and opportunities not mentioned here that are worth sharing and experiencing. So please, share your recommendations with us so that we may share them with others. Thanks.
