Just. Love is an invitation to join GCORR in our call to inspire our denomination in a movement toward equity and justice at our decision-making tables. Together, we will include the voices of more young people, more women, more people of color and others in our annual conferences whose voices, perspectives, talents, and expertise are often marginalized and excluded.
Just. Love was developed to help move church leaders — especially those electing delegates to General and Jurisdictional Conferences — to:
- Elect and support full participation of delegates who are under 30, people of color, women, members of the LGBTQIA community, and delegates who have previously been marginalized because of economic class or social location.
- Invite boldness from church leaders with regard to calling out and countering hate speech, supremacy rhetoric, might-makes-right theology, and us-them pronouncements during our annual conference session.
- Pray with our feet and hands, working, learning, challenging, ministering, marching and witnessing in the pursuit of God’s love, justice, peace and reconciliation.
We who serve the God of love are called to speak justice, offer welcome, and engage in liberation with those who have been historically marginalized and oppressed. Please use the following resources to foster more equity and inclusion in your Annual Conference. Use the hashtag #justloveUMC to share your photos and how Just. Love is present at your conference.
